I rarely have time to do blog posts of my own family but I thought I would show you a few from our 4th of July weekend.  We have a family tradition of spending the 4th with the Laux clan and boy oh boy do we have fun.  Pat, Jackie and Carson host an amazing family get-together at their home each year.  We celebrate by swimming in the pond, feeding the horses, corn hole tournaments, eating fabulous food and catching up with family members.  It is a great way to celebrate Independence Day AND Grandma Luella’s birthday.   It is a family tradition we hope to celebrate for many years to come.  Tony and I are still in the stage where we never sit down.   We are on the look out for our kids as they run around with their cousins and it seems like they are going all different directions.  They have so much fun and create countless memories with their cousins.  I did manage to snap a few pictures this year so I thought I would share.  I hope everyone is having a great summer and taking the time to enjoy their family.

Dylan spent most of his day in the boat.

I first met this family for their maternity session.  Once again I have had the pleasure of getting to know this family throughout the first year of Jack’s life.  I just love to see how their little personalities change from newborn, 6 months to a year.  We wanted to do his one year session outside but ran into some rain.  I’m so glad we rescheduled because it was a perfect summer morning.  He had so much fun playing around the park.  Here is a little sneak peek for them. I have been so busy with sessions lately that I need to get back to editing so they can see their entire gallery. They will have lots to choose from.

My sweet little boy!

July 4, 2010

You may remember this adorable family from a Think Pink session I did about a year ago.  I was notified this week that Jennifer lost her battle with breast cancer.  Our prayers go out to her family during this difficult time.  May God comfort her with open arms and always watch over her little boy Oliver.  He will forever have an angel with him.

I was so excited when I got the call to photograph these adorable twin boys.  I’m totally amazed by this family.  These gorgeous boys join their twin brother and sister(5) and their little sister(3).  They all came to our house for a Sunday afternoon visit AFTER attending a family wedding in Indianapolis the night before.  My husband went to high school with their daddy so it was wonderful to catch up a bit.  I of course was hard at work photographing these little cuties.  I love the images of them together.  Knowing that they were curled up like that while their mommy carried all FIFTEEN pounds of them.  Like I said, they are an amazing family and their kids are so lucky to have such wonderful role-models.  After our time together they drove back to their home in Tennessee.  (Like I said, amazed)

He was ALL smiles!

First of all, look at that HAIR!!!  When the car door opened and I greeted them I couldn’t help but smile.  Boy oh boy did he smile back.  He was one happy dude even with several outfit changes.  I have been photographing Max for a year now and it is always a blast. I love his style and I have enjoyed getting to know his family so much.  I warned them that if they thought he was a busy boy for this session, just wait until his 18 month session.  I will be ready.

Gorgeous little girl!

June 22, 2010

I have photographed so many little boys lately which I LOVE, but I was ready to see some pink.  The little sweet pea was just as precious as can be.   She lives close to us and I think Marcus has a little crush.  He lights up when we he sees her.  She is the youngest of 4.  Her 3 older brothers are going to have to watch out for her which I know they will.  We have loved getting to know this family and I was honored to take her 2 year pictures.

Here are a few from a session with another cute 18 month old.  I have to say that the sessions with all of these busy boys give me a workout.  I have been photographing little Will since he was in him mommy’s belly.  It is always such a treat to see my clients little personalities develop over the first few years.  To go from a curled up little newborn to a toddler running all around is so fun.  Just another reason why I love my job.  Will had fun at our little park setting but we thought we could visit the fire station as well.  What little boy doesn’t LOVE big trucks??  Here is a sneak peek of sweet,  Will.

I was so happy when I got the call for this session.  I photographed this little guy about a year ago and was excited to see him again.  He was so full of energy and spunk.  He kept me on my toes, but in the end I walked away knowing it was a great session.  The poor guy was looking for “ducks, ducks, ducks” the entire session.  It was perfect when a family of ducks was spotted as we walked back to our cars.

You will notice a lot of my little guys have on overalls.  I have to say this is one of my all time favorite looks for little boys.  I always suggest it for 1 year to about 3 years old. In fact, I have a great stash of all sizes to contribute.  There is something about this look that just says, “all boy” to me.  I absolutely love it and I think everyone needs pictures like this.

This was another session where I had to watch the weather radar minute by minute.  The rain came through early in the day so it made things perfect for our sunset session.  I was so excited when their mom told me she had purchased their  outfits at a Trendy Sisters trunk show.  They were absolutely adorable!!!  Of course I had to do some fun ones with my tu-tu’s as well.  They are coming over this weekend to talk about how they should display these gorgeous images in their home.  I can’t wait!!  I have been photographing this family since I started my business and I hope to do it for many years to come.
